B I O G R A P H Y

Drea Pressley, mezzo soprano, performs with the Los

Angeles Master Chorale, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and

has performed with New Orleans Opera Association, and

Operafestival di Roma. As a member of Los Angeles

Master Chorale, Ms. Pressley toured Europe with the Los

Angeles Philharmonic, premiering John Adam’s new work,

The Gospel According to the Other Mary.

 

Drea enjoys performing with several of New Mexico’s

premiere arts organizations, including Santa Fe Pro

Musica, and has performed with Santa Fe Opera, Santa Fe

New Music,  Santa Fe Desert Chorale, the New Mexico

Symphony Orchestra, Canticum Novum, and Sangre de

Cristo Chorale.

 

Ms. Pressley's operatic roles include Cherubino (Le nozze

di Figaro), L’enfant (L’enfant et les Sortileges), Berta (The

Barber of Seville), Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus).

Oratorio repertoire includes Mozart’s Mass in C minor,

Requiem, Vesperae sollemnes; Bach’s Mass in B minor,

Magnificat, Cantata 78, Arvo Pärt’s Passio, Handel’s

Messiah, Haydn’s Harmonie- Messe, Vivaldi’s Gloria and

Dixit Dominus, Saint-Säen’s Christmas Oratorio, Duruflé’s

Requiem, Charpentier’s Messe de minuit pour Noël, John

Tavener’s Lamentations and Praises, and David Lang’s Little Match Girl Passion.

 

In addition to stage performance, one of Drea's favorite vocations is singing as a studio musician in Hollywood and she can be heard on movie soundtracks including Avatar, Cowboys and Aliens, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, and Godzilla. She is a proud member of the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) and the Screen Actors Guild/American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).

 

Drea also enjoys teaching and has a private studio of piano and voice students.  She has also taught music at several elementary schools in the Bay area.

Recently, Drea relocated to the beautiful town of Durango, CO where she will continue teaching and performing.
